A Listserv is a group email discussion system. People who wish to join the discussion can subscribe to the group Listserv. Whenever a member of the group posts an email to the Listserv, a copy is sent to all group members. It's a way to broadcast information to a selected group of people.
A group can be configured to allow all members to contribute a broadcast email, or to allow only a few moderators or a single administrator to post emails. Group lists are easy to create and can be modified at any time. People may subscribe to the Listserv group simply by sending an email to the list.
